Where do we begin...?

In 1986, Lachelle Howard introduced Alishia to Jeremiah. They were both students at Howard Bishop Middle School in Gainesville, Florida. Alishia was in the 7th grade, and Jeremiah was in the 8th grade. They bonded as friends, but always saw each other as brother and sister, ...besties forever. They both attended Eastside High School (Go Rams!), where they continued their close friendship. Through the years of high school, they bonded over sports (they both love football), laughter and practical jokes, and Jeremiah at one point was Alishia's algebra tutor. Jeremiah graduated in 1990, and Alishia graduated in 1991. After graduation Alishia left Gainesville, FL to pursue college, and over the years they lost touch with one another. Over the decades they were both in other relationships, had four children each, worked, and lived completely separately with no contact.

In 2019, Alishia was brought back to Gainesville to begin working for a law firm. A relative of Jeremiah's advised her that, "Jerk said Hi..." and the rest as they say is history. Jeremiah and Alishia exchanged numbers and it wasn't long before their friendship and bond again reunited. And like before, both of them only saw one another as brother and sister... besties.

But four years later everything would change as the relationship status of both of them drastically changed, and all of a sudden, they were both single for the first time in over 30 years.

On Valentines Day 2023, Jeremiah professed his love to Alishia and asked if they could pursue a relationship. It came as a bit of a surprise to Alishia who only saw the two of them as really good friends. But as fate would have it, she gave him a chance and has never regretted her decision.

Jeremiah and Alishia became officially engaged in February 2024 when he bought an engagement "house" and asked her to marry him. She said, "I Will" and on July 12, 2025, two best friends are going to have a marriage ceremony in front of friends and family.
